Manov Steel Sizzles

U16 athlete Ruby MANOV has broken two records at the Kingsway Little Athletics Centre in the 100m & 300m hurdles.

On January 13th she broke the 300m hurdles record at KLAC with a time of 47.83. Almost a whole second faster than the previous record of 48.69sec. Then two weeks later on January 27th she broke the 100m hurdles record with a personal best performance of 15.78 (the previous record was 16.48 set on 18/02/2023).

One week after that she set another personal best of 14.83 at the WA Athletics Stadium beating the Sprinting Fast record (which was 14.97 set on 17/12/2015 by Sarah Sunquist). That effort currently ranks her 6th in Australia for her age group. Later that evening she recorded her fastest ever 100m clocking a wind-aided 12.56 (+2.3).

Ruby only joined Sprinting Fast halfway through the 2023/24 season and has made some impressive improvements since.

Bella’s speed at new levels

U12/13 Perth Saints soccer player Isabella Di Prinzio has taken her speed to the next level with 11 weeks of sprint training.

"When Bella arrived she was doing some things incorrect with her sprinting. We had to change a few things to make her more economical and increase her speed" Says coach Edmiston. "Now she is moving much better and you can visually see the difference. She has improved more than half a second over 30m and more than one second over 60m. That's a lot and it will make a huge difference to her soccer games in many ways".

Isabella continues to work hard and do sprint training in her lead up to the coming 2024 soccer season.
